Shu-Li Huang

Shu-Li Huang received a Master of Regional Planning (1980) and a PhD in City and Regional Planning (1983) from University of Pennsylvania, USA. He is currently a Distinguished Professor of Graduate Institute of Urban Planning, and the director for Center for Global Change and Sustainability Science, National Taipei University., Taiwan. He was also appointed Vice-President of National Taipei University during 2005-2007 and 2010-2015. Shu-Li Huang is the Scientific Steering Committee of the Urbanization and Global Environmental Change (UGEC; an IHDP Project). He is also the committee member of Taiwan's National Committee on Future Earth. Shu-Li Huang has received numerous academic research awards and honors such as the Outstanding Research Award from National Science Council (1991, 2012), Outstanding Research Award of National Chung-Hsing University (1999), Fulbright Scholarship (1993), Resident Scholar of Bellagio Study and Conference Center, Rockefeller Foundation (1998), Planning Medal of Taiwan Institute of Urban Planning (2005), etc.
Research Interests
Shu-Li Huang's research focus includes ecological energetic analysis of urbanization, peri-urbanization and environmental change, ecological land use planning, urban simulation, and urban sustainability assessment.
