Interactive Visualization and Measurement of Urban Areas 2012

The graphic illustrate an interactive web-mapping tool that was developed by Ph.D. candidates from the MIT-Portugal Program that allows you to explore the urban metabolism of major U.S. cities. The map includes data about cities' and neighborhoods' energy usage (kilowatt per hour and per person), material intensity (kilo per person) and population density patterns.
