This data visualization put out by UCLA allows users to look at energy consumption of based on building type, energy type, unit, and scale in Los Angeles. It provides two ways of looking at the information: as a map or a table. The project then provides energy policy recommendations and analysis. As it is written in the website, it allows Californians to interact with the largest set of disaggregated energy data in the nation. This is one of the essential goals of data visualization for the public - to present large amounts of information so that everyday people can engage with it.
