Melbourne Urban Forest

The city of Melbourne has made an interactive map of all planted trees. Using the website, one can look at the spread of trees and see the diversity of species and their life spans. The city uses this map to achieve its goals of increased diversity, improved canopy cover, and overall to better the green infrastructure of the city. Presenting the data in an open platform like this allows for everyday citizens to be a part of urban planning and systems thinking.
